Victorian Sabre Sparring

Clashing Victorian military Sabre action with Matt Easton and students from The Schola Gladiatora. This film features live sparring with the Victorian military officer’s Sabre where the cut and thrust of cold steel is unforgiving.
Actively keeping European traditional martial arts alive through practice and research the Schola Gladiatora specialize in;
1. the medieval knightly art of Fiore dei Liberi (c.1380-1410), covering longsword, grappling, dagger, spear and pollaxe, and;
2. the Victorian military fencing system of John Musgrave Waite (c.1865-1884), covering the infantry officer’s sabre and infantryman’s bayonet.
